Metro BCA to Host New Jersey’s First-Ever National “Build My Future” Event This October Jaeger Lumber Signs On as Major Sponsor

The Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of New Jersey (Metro BCA) is proud to announce that it will host the Build My Future event for the first time in New Jersey on October 15, 2025, at Franklin Elementary School’s Meeker Street Pavilion in Succasunna, NJ.

Build My Future – Metro NJ is a half-day, hands-on construction career day and industry showcase designed to give high school students an immersive look into the skilled trades. The event invites students from across Morris, Essex, Union, Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, and surrounding counties to explore careers in carpentry, electrical, architecture, roofing, cabinetry, plumbing, and more — through more than 25 interactive learning labs led by local trade professionals.

“We’re thrilled to bring this nationally recognized program to New Jersey for the first time,” said Dane Rohmann, Chair of the Build My Future planning committee. "We in the industry recognize that not all roads lead to college. Our intent is to offer these kids a visual experience in hopes they will entertain a career within the Trades. This comes at a very crucial time when more seasoned professionals are retiring, and not enough support is coming in to fill the gap. If we do not do something to promote careers in The Trades, costs of home improvement will skyrocket, and quality craftsmanship will be a thing of the past. “

Metro BCA is equally excited to announce Jaeger Lumber as the event’s major sponsor. A long-standing name in New Jersey’s building supply industry, Jaeger Lumber’s early support demonstrates its ongoing commitment to workforce development and the future of the trades.

As the host organization, Metro BCA is a regional nonprofit trade association representing the homebuilding, remodeling, and light commercial construction industry throughout Northern and Central New Jersey.
